| Beginners new to the sport of fly-fishing face a mine-field of confusing choices. One of these is which fly-line to purchase. Nowadays it really only comes down to Double Taper or Weight Forward and most seem to choose the latter. Below is a very quick guide to help explain some of the pros and cons of both. | Because of the reduced river flows after the completion of the Tongariro Power Development Scheme in the 1970’s all other techniques besides wet-lining were now viable options. Visiting American anglers probably introduced the indicator to New Zealand and at that time strike indicators could be made of virtually anything. | First of all a huge thank you to all of you who have emailed me inquiring how I am. Its been a tough couple of months for Gail and myself but I'm up and about and well on the mend. Unfortunately the "reports" will continue to be a little sporadic until I'm match fit and back on the river...you don't realize how much your going to miss something until its taken away from you.
